my thoughts on ChoCho were a rollercoaster here:
-annoying not caring about training but the same romance scene
-mad respect because felt like she may have actually been paying attention just fine
-mad annoyed due to her misusing that jutsu to catfish
-happy she was being such a professional, but choice, unlike team 7 that literally could have told her "nah, we had body guards, not servants"
-so angry she let the ninja get away to keep up her fascade
-happy that seems to have worked out for her goals.

My bet is the director is at fault!!! (25% confidence for no good reason but hunch)
